Ever After Brings Horror Icons Together for Digital Release
Horror fans who like their casts packed with familiar genre faces have plenty to recognise in Ever After, a new horror feature bringing together Mark Sheppard, Bonnie Aarons, Michael Berryman, Kane Hodder and Malcolm McDowell. Following a limited theatrical run, the film is now expanding internationally with a digital release beginning October 27, 2026.
Directed and produced by Laszlo Illes, Ever After is scheduled to become available for digital rental and purchase across more than 50 countries and territories, including the United Kingdom and United States. Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Google Play/YouTube Movies & TV are among the announced platforms, although availability and release dates may differ depending on territory.

The cast is likely to be the immediate attraction for horror fans. Bonnie Aarons is instantly recognisable as Valak from The Conjuring 2 and The Nun, while Kane Hodder remains synonymous with Jason Voorhees after playing the masked killer across four consecutive Friday the 13th films. Michael Berryman became one of horror’s most distinctive faces through films including Wes Craven’s The Hills Have Eyes, while Malcolm McDowell’s enormous genre career includes Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Halloween II alongside his iconic performance in Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange. Mark Sheppard, meanwhile, will be familiar to genre television audiences from Supernatural and Battlestar Galactica.
Fairy Tales Get a Horror Makeover
Rather than simply assembling an impressive collection of horror veterans and hoping that will do the job, Ever After throws its characters into a particularly nasty spin on familiar childhood stories. The film follows a group of girlfriends whose celebration at a secluded forest lodge takes a considerably darker turn when they discover what is lurking in the surrounding woods.
According to the film’s official synopsis, the women encounter a collection of bloodthirsty killers who believe themselves to be characters from classic fairy tales. What was supposed to be a getaway consequently becomes a fight for survival, with the film taking recognisable fairy-tale imagery and dragging it into the considerably less comforting territory of contemporary horror.

It is an idea with plenty of potential for a genre audience. Fairy tales were often much darker and more violent than the sanitised versions many of us encountered as children anyway, so returning that imagery to something nastier isn’t exactly a gigantic leap. Add a group of killers who apparently believe they belong inside those stories and Ever After certainly isn’t promising anyone a relaxing weekend in the woods.
The 125-minute film comes from Intergalactic Pictures, Inc., with Illes serving as both director and producer. The production also represents a sizeable gathering of performers whose careers stretch across several generations of horror and genre entertainment, from The Hills Have Eyes and A Clockwork Orange through Friday the 13th, Halloween, Supernatural and The Conjuring universe.
Ever After Goes International
The digital launch follows Ever After’s Los Angeles premiere at the Harmony Gold Theater and a limited U.S. theatrical release in September. The film has also had theatrical engagements in Latin America, with the October digital rollout considerably expanding its potential audience.

The announced digital territories cover North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania and the Caribbean. Alongside the UK and United States, the planned rollout includes Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, Greece, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and numerous additional markets.
The release is being offered as TVOD, meaning digital rental and purchase rather than being announced as part of a subscription streaming service. Individual platform availability varies between territories, so horror fans will need to check their local Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV or Google Play/YouTube Movies & TV storefronts for availability.
With five recognisable genre names at the top of the billing and a premise that transforms familiar fairy-tale characters into something considerably more murderous, Ever After is certainly positioning itself squarely towards horror audiences. Following its theatrical outings, viewers across the UK and numerous other territories can discover what is waiting in those woods as the film’s international digital rollout begins October 27.
