The Insidious franchise has come a remarkably long way since the release of the original film in 2010. Returning to confront that growing threat is Lin Shaye, once again reprising her iconic role as Elise Rainier. Since the original film, Elise has become the emotional centre of the franchise, offering guidance, compassion and unwavering courage whenever darkness emerges from The Further. Even after the events of earlier films, the character has remained an essential part of the mythology, and her return suggests that this latest supernatural crisis may require every ounce of her experience.
Joining Shaye is Amelia Eve, best known for The Haunting of Bly Manor, alongside Brandon Perea, who impressed audiences in Jordan Peele’s Nope.
