NECA Returns to Derry with Two Terrifying New Pennywise Figures
Just when you thought the sewers of Derry were safe, NECA has crawled back out, red balloon in hand, ready to ruin another good night’s sleep. The toy titan has announced two spine-chilling new releases from the upcoming HBO series IT Welcome to Derry. Both figures launch today, October 7th at 2 PM ET on theNECAStore.com before slithering into other horror retailers later this evening.

First to drag its painted shoes onto the stage is the Ultimate Pennywise seven inch scale action figure, bringing the nightmare clown back to life in all his unsettling glory. Standing tall and terrifying, this fully articulated figure is packed with features including multiple interchangeable heads and hands, a bloodied ruffle, a severed head, and that sinister red balloon on a wire. Because what is Pennywise without that balloon floating just high enough to make you regret ever leaving the house?
Every detail has been crafted with NECA’s usual blend of obsession and fear therapy. The costume has more folds than your laundry pile and the face sculpt manages to look simultaneously lifelike and entirely dead inside. The figure arrives in a collector friendly window box with an opening front flap, perfect for horror fans who like to admire their collection without risking the supernatural consequences of actually letting the thing out.

But NECA was not content with just one haunting. Enter the Ultimate Bob Gray as Pennywise, the clown before the madness, or perhaps during an early rehearsal for it. This version takes inspiration from the flashbacks in Welcome to Derry, revealing Pennywise in his human form when he was still the circus performer Bob Gray. Think of it as Pennywise before he discovered demonic shape-shifting was a viable career path.
The figure is a love letter to nightmare theatre. It comes loaded with interchangeable heads and hands, stage props, flowers, a wooden beaver, a wig and a wig stand. Because if there is one thing worse than a murderous clown, it is a murderous clown with perfect hair. The period costume is beautifully rendered, oozing vintage charm and sinister undertones. It is another example of NECA proving that horror can indeed be fashionable.

These two releases continue NECA’s reign as the supreme ruler of horror collectibles. Their previous IT figures from the 2017 and 2019 films were nothing short of iconic, bringing fans everything from balloon-wielding Pennywise to that delightfully terrifying sewer grin. Those earlier figures became instant favourites among collectors, and these new additions promise to stand shoulder to shoulder with the best of them.
For years, NECA has mastered the art of balancing realism with the grotesque. Their sculpts manage to be both screen-accurate and dripping with personality. Pennywise, whether smiling sweetly or about to take a bite out of someone’s face, has never looked more unnervingly real. And with these new Welcome to Derry designs, they have reached new levels of detail that will make collectors cheer and children cry.

The upcoming series IT Welcome to Derry promises to explore the origins of the creature that haunts the Maine town every twenty seven years. While details remain secret, these figures offer a glimpse into the show’s tone. The Bob Gray figure hints at a deeper dive into Pennywise’s human past, while the new clown version keeps the terror we know and love front and centre. Between the two, NECA has managed to capture both sides of Stephen King’s most infamous monster — the man and the myth, the performer and the predator.
In truth, NECA’s Pennywise figures are less toys and more warnings. They are reminders that horror can be beautiful, art can be terrifying, and no amount of collector-friendly packaging can protect you from the creeping dread that comes when you catch those tiny painted eyes staring back at you from your shelf.

So if you are brave enough to bring Pennywise home, make some space next to your other horror icons and maybe keep a light on. Because once these figures are in your house, you might find yourself hearing faint circus music in the middle of the night.
And whatever you do, if you see a red balloon drifting past your window — probably best not to follow it.
