Stranger Things Chapter 2 Hits Dead by Daylight as Vecna Joins the Killer Roster
The gates to Hawkins are swinging open once again, and this time they lead straight into The Fog.
While Netflix’s Stranger Things may have wrapped up its story last month, Dead by Daylight is very much not done with the Upside Down. On January 27, 2026, Behaviour Interactive unleashes Stranger Things Chapter 2 in Dead by Daylight, expanding the crossover in a big way and proving that just because a show ends does not mean its characters get to rest. If anything, things have only gotten worse for them.
Vecna Joins Dead by Daylight as the New Killer

Headlining Stranger Things Chapter 2 is Vecna, also known as The First, and he is absolutely not here to play fair. As the new Killer in Dead by Daylight, Vecna brings a power set that feels custom built to make Survivors panic in entirely new ways.
His abilities allow him to warp the environment itself, spreading the organic corruption of the Upside Down throughout the Trial. Vines burst from the ground, terrain becomes hazardous, and Vecna can disappear beneath the earth only to reappear elsewhere, cursing anyone unlucky enough to cross his path. It is less of a chase and more of a supernatural ambush.
Adding to the tension is the familiar sound of grandfather clocks echoing across the map. Sometimes they serve as a warning, sometimes as a slim chance to avoid disaster. Hear them too late and you are already in trouble. Hear them in time and you might just survive long enough to wish you had logged off earlier.
It is oppressive, cruel, and very on brand.
Eleven and Dustin Join the Dead by Daylight Survivors
On the Survivor side, Stranger Things Chapter 2 in Dead by Daylight adds two of Hawkins’ most recognisable faces. Eleven, officially Jane Hopper, and Dustin Henderson enter The Fog, joining Steve Harrington and Nancy Wheeler from the original chapter.
Each Survivor comes with unique perks that shape how they play. Eleven leans into resilience and controlled bursts of power, while Dustin focuses on teamwork, clever plays, and somehow staying upbeat even while being hunted by an interdimensional nightmare. It is an energy most players will not be able to relate to.
The roster also gets a nostalgia boost through new Legendary Outfits. Jonathan Byers returns as a Legendary tied to the original chapter, while Eddie Munson becomes a Legendary skin for Dustin and Robin Buckley for Nancy. Yes, you can now run from Vecna while dressed as Eddie Munson, which feels emotionally unfair but completely accurate.
Why Stranger Things and Dead by Daylight Work So Well Together

According to Creative Director Dave Richard, bringing Stranger Things back to Dead by Daylight was about more than nostalgia. It was about evolution and deepening the connection between two horror worlds that already share DNA built on tension, mystery, and that sinking feeling that you are not in control.
Stranger Things and Dead by Daylight have always been a natural fit. Both thrive on creeping dread, iconic monsters, and the slow realisation that the situation is spiralling beyond anything you can fix. Vecna’s arrival feels less like a guest appearance and more like a hostile takeover of the Trial.
Escaping Michael Myers is stressful. Escaping while the Upside Down itself is trying to drag you into a nightmare dimension is something else entirely.
Stranger Things Chapter 2 Release Date
Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Chapter 2 launches on January 27, 2026, across PC and consoles. With a major new Killer, fan favourite Survivors, and a heavy dose of Upside Down chaos, this is shaping up to be one of the game’s biggest crossovers yet.
