Ready or Not 2 Trailer Drops and Immediately Ruins Everyone’s Blood Pressure
Searchlight Pictures has dropped the official trailer for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, and if the goal was to send fans into a frenzy, mission absolutely accomplished. The trailer wastes no time throwing Grace back into the fray, proving that the universe, the demonic board game, and apparently several wealthy murder families still have unresolved business with her.
The footage is a glorious blend of carnage, elegance, panic, and Samara Weaving sprinting for her life like she’s trying to win the world’s worst 5K. It begins just moments after the first film’s finale, with Grace still covered in soot, blood, and the emotional residue of watching her husband’s entire lineage explode before breakfast. She barely has time to exhale before the trailer makes it clear: this time the game actually has levels, because why wouldn’t it.

We get glimpses of masked hunters, ominous ritual rooms, ancient rules that absolutely no one asked for, and Grace learning that surviving the Le Domas clan was basically her tutorial mode. The trailer also teases some of the sequel’s biggest additions, including a looming global council, new enemies, and a far wider conspiracy that somehow makes the first film look like a quaint little family misunderstanding.
Keeping the hype rolling, the trailer shows off the newcomers joining Grace on this terrible adventure. Kathryn Newton appears as Grace’s estranged sister Faith, introduced with a combination of dry wit and immediate regret. The montage of them bonding through mortal danger suggests the sisters could become one of horror cinema’s great dysfunctional duos.

Intercut with the carnage is a parade of new faces: Sarah Michelle Gellar, armed with the sort of presence that says she can kill someone with good posture alone; Elijah Wood, who thrives in roles where something is off and worrying; Shawn Hatosy, Olivia Cheng, Varun Saranga, and Daniel Beirne. Then the trailer casually tosses in David Cronenberg, as if to reassure viewers that yes, things will get weirder. Horrifyingly, beautifully weirder.
Once the trailer has fully assaulted your senses, the studio finally reveals the synopsis. Grace learns she must fight her way through four murderous rival families for the right to claim the High Seat of a shadowy council that secretly runs the world. If she wins, she survives and gains power. If she loses, well, she dies in some inventive way crafted by writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, who return alongside directors Matt Bettinelli Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
The trailer’s tone is a perfect escalation of the first film: bigger, bloodier, darkly funnier, and somehow even more chaotic. Samara Weaving promised the sequel would be “unhinged and absolutely cooked,” and judging by the trailer, she was underselling it. If the Le Domas wedding night was a nightmare, the sequel looks like someone handed the nightmare an espresso, a grenade, and a formal dress code.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come arrives in cinemas April 10, 2026. Consider this your warning: the game is back, it is angrier, and it absolutely expects you to RSVP.
