Treasured Films Announce Gialli, Guns and Gore: The Brutal Films of Darren Ward Boxset — A Bloody Love Letter to British Mayhem
Treasured Films have once again dipped their bloodied hands into the vaults of cult cinema to bring something special to collectors. Arriving in February 2026, the label will release Gialli, Guns and Gore: The Brutal Films of Darren Ward, a three-disc limited edition boxset celebrating one of the UK’s most fearless underground filmmakers. Only two thousand copies will be available, making this one of the most coveted releases in Treasured’s growing catalogue.
The set also forms part of Treasured’s Next 6 Bundle subscription, which kicked off earlier this year and already includes The Last Shark and the upcoming release of Mikey. So if you ordered the bundle, there’s no need to order again. With this latest announcement, the company proves once again why it is one of the most exciting labels for genre fans, unearthing hidden gems from the fringes of horror and crime cinema.
Known affectionately as the “John Woo of Southampton,” Darren Ward carved out his own savage corner of British independent film with a trilogy of ultra-violent, no-holds-barred tales of revenge, gunfire, and gore. Treasured Films’ new release is the first time all three of Ward’s features — Sudden Fury, A Day of Violence, and Beyond Fury — have been brought together, each remastered and loaded with bonus material that shines a light on his dedication to splatter-soaked storytelling.

Disc One: Sudden Fury (1997)
Ward’s debut feature Sudden Fury kicked off his unique brand of shot-on-video carnage. The film follows Randall, a small-time crime boss who sets his sights on his rival’s cocaine empire. To take over the trade, he hires legendary hitman Walker — played by screen legend David Warbeck in one of his final roles — to eliminate the competition. Naturally, things go horribly wrong when Walker realises he has been double-crossed, turning the streets of southern England into a fiery battlefield of bullets and blood.
Sudden Fury is pure 90s shot-on-video chaos, bursting with practical pyrotechnics and energy that puts many higher-budget action movies to shame. Treasured’s new 720HD restoration finally does justice to Ward’s early work, presenting it uncut for the first time with extensive extras. Fans will find early Ward shorts Paura Il Diavolo (1992), Blue Fear (1993), and Bitter Vengeance (1994), alongside deleted scenes, a retrospective documentary, outtakes, and make-up reels.
Disc Two: A Day of Violence (2010)
After more than a decade, Ward returned with A Day of Violence, a brutal crime splatter epic that cemented his cult reputation. The story follows Mitchell Parker, a low-level debt collector who stumbles upon one hundred thousand pounds hidden in a client’s sofa. Unfortunately, the money belongs to some very dangerous people. Soon, Mitchell is being hunted across the seedy underworld, forced to face his own demons while drenched in buckets of fake blood.
Featuring Italian horror icon Giovanni Lombardo Radice (Cannibal Ferox, House at the Edge of the Park), A Day of Violence mixes the grime of British crime cinema with the excess of Italian exploitation. The new Blu-ray comes with a feature-length making-of documentary, behind-the-scenes featurettes, commentaries, deleted scenes, and Ward’s 2004 short Nightmares with its own commentary. It is the kind of exhaustive release that makes Treasured Films’ fans grin from ear to ear.
Disc Three: Beyond Fury (2019)
The trilogy reaches its explosive conclusion with Beyond Fury, Ward’s most ambitious and goriest project to date. Former mercenary Michael Walker and his pregnant girlfriend are attacked by a gang of criminals, leaving him broken and desperate for revenge. What follows is a rampage of violent retribution that would make Charles Bronson blush.
Radice returns once again as the sadistic villain Ivan Lenzivitch, joined by exploitation veterans Dan van Husen, Dani Thompson, and Jeff Stewart — yes, Reg Hollis from The Bill himself. The film combines over-the-top gunfights with splatter effects worthy of Fulci, resulting in a chaotic, cathartic finale to Ward’s bloody crime saga.
This final disc also includes Ward’s most recent short film, Passion (2025), a giallo-inspired horror piece that nods lovingly to the Italian genre cinema that influenced his entire career. The set also boasts featurettes on visual effects, props, and an in-depth look at the making of the trilogy.
Darren Ward: A Celebration of True Independent Filmmaking
With Gialli, Guns and Gore, Treasured Films have put together a collector’s dream. The set includes a booklet with interviews and essays by Tom Lee Rutter, new artwork by Ilan Sheady, exclusive signed postcards, and a double-sided Beyond Fury poster — all wrapped up in packaging that proudly celebrates the gritty aesthetic of British underground cinema.
Ward’s work has often been described as a love letter to both Italian and Hong Kong action cinema. His films are unapologetically raw, filled with grit, heart, and gallons of stage blood. Treasured Films’ dedication to preserving his work ensures that these overlooked gems will finally reach the wider audience they deserve.
Pre-orders are live now via the official Treasured Films website, with only two thousand units available worldwide. For international collectors, orders can also be placed through Film Treasures.
Expect this brutal, bullet-riddled boxset to arrive in February 2026 — a date that will no doubt have fans of low-budget mayhem counting down the days.
And if you missed out on the Next 6 Bundle, which also includes The Last Shark and the upcoming Mikey, now might be the time to start saving your pennies. After all, who can resist a collection that mixes gialli, guns, and gallons of gore?
