NECA Announces Ultimate Figures for Jason’s Sweet Revenge and I Know What You Did Last Summer’s Fisherman
NECA has revealed not one, but two brand-new Ultimate horror figures, giving collectors plenty to get excited about ahead of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Joining the ever-growing Ultimates line are two iconic slasher villains from very different corners of horror history: Jason Voorhees as he appeared in the recent Sweet Revenge short film, and The Fisherman from the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise. Both figures come loaded with accessories, packed with detail, and continue NECA’s reputation for producing some of the finest horror collectibles on the market. If your wallet was hoping for a quiet summer, it may want to look away now.
The Fisherman is making his long-awaited debut in NECA’s Ultimate range after previously receiving the Toony Terrors treatment earlier this year. Based on the rain-slicked killer from the I Know What You Did Last Summer films, the 7-inch scale figure recreates his instantly recognisable look with a meticulously tailored fabric slicker complete with a poseable wired capelet. Fully articulated and armed to the teeth, the figure includes three different versions of his trademark hook, representing weapons used throughout the franchise, alongside a boat hook, machete, fillet knife, harpoon gun and even a pair of hedge shears. NECA has also included interchangeable gloved and ungloved hands, an alternate hood, and perhaps the most essential accessory of all: the infamous note reading “I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER!”. For a villain who spends most of his time silently stalking teenagers through rain-soaked streets, he’s surprisingly well equipped.
First released in 1997 and written by Kevin Williamson, I Know What You Did Last Summer quickly became one of the defining slashers of the post-Scream boom. Based on Lois Duncan’s 1973 novel, the film followed four friends haunted by a mysterious killer one year after covering up a fatal accident. While the franchise has evolved across sequels and reboots, Ben Willis, better known simply as The Fisherman, has remained one of horror’s most distinctive masked killers thanks to his rain gear, wicked hook and relentless pursuit of anyone unfortunate enough to cross his path. Despite never quite reaching the same cultural heights as Jason or Ghostface, he’s earned a devoted fanbase over the past three decades, making his arrival in the Ultimate line feel long overdue.
Joining him is another horror legend, although this version of Jason Voorhees is unlike any collectors have seen before. Rather than drawing inspiration from one of the classic Friday the 13th films, NECA’s latest Ultimate Jason is based on his appearance in Sweet Revenge, the official short film released under the Jason Universe banner. Directed by Mike P. Nelson (Silent Night, Deadly Night), the short marked Jason’s first live-action appearance in more than sixteen years and introduced fans to a refreshed interpretation of the Crystal Lake killer. Portrayed physically by stunt performer Schuyler White, this incarnation abandons the hulking undead monster seen in later sequels and instead returns Jason to something closer to the relentless, athletic killer from his earlier outings, moving with speed and purpose rather than simply absorbing punishment.
Standing in the usual 7-inch Ultimate scale, the new Jason figure captures that redesigned appearance in impressive detail and comes with an excellent selection of accessories. Alongside his iconic machete, collectors also receive a kitchen knife, an apple corer, interchangeable hands and one particularly gruesome inclusion: a boat motor complete with remnants of Jason’s unfortunate victims attached to it. It’s exactly the sort of delightfully over-the-top accessory horror collectors have come to expect from NECA, whose Ultimate figures have become famous for celebrating even the bloodiest moments from genre cinema. If you’ve ever wanted a miniature outboard motor covered in gore sitting on your shelf, today is apparently your lucky day.
Sweet Revenge itself was much more than a simple promotional video. Released as an official Jason Universe short, it served as the public introduction to the franchise’s new creative direction while also forming part of a wider partnership with Angry Orchard Hard Cider, which saw limited-edition Jason-themed beverages released during last Halloween season. Although only a short film, it was warmly received by many fans, with praise directed towards Mike P. Nelson’s energetic direction and Schuyler White’s physical performance. Rather than attempting to reinvent Jason completely, Sweet Revenge reminded audiences why the character became one of horror’s greatest icons in the first place: a silent, relentless force of nature whose mere presence is enough to send anyone running in the opposite direction.
Both Ultimate figures are available to pre-order now through the NECA Store for $37.99 each. The Fisherman is expected to begin shipping during Quarter 4 of 2026, while Jason’s Sweet Revenge figure is currently scheduled for Quarter 2 of 2027.
